Nordic Factory created a neat, glossy flag set, covering all major countries and states in the world, for a prior project. We thought the images might would be appreciated in the public so here they are for free. In total, two different sets with 230 flags each. All of them are saved in PNG-24 format with semi-transparency. Download below:

Would be great if the naming convention gave the full name of the country flag, or a file that indicated country name.

Thanks, glad you like them! We named them by country code to make it easy to use them programmatically. Unfortunately that makes some of the smaller countries/regions hard to find when browsing manually.
The flags can be used commercial by linking back to http://www.nordicfactory.com.

I’ve been surfing around for awhile and this seems to be one of the most impressive free flag set. I know it’s already been said over and over but admin – awesomely done, and thanks so much for sharing this for free.
I wanted to ask a little question: The only reason I currently can’t use this set, is that I’m creating a database based on the ISO 3166-1 country listing, and there are 246 entities there, which means I’m missing 16 flags in this set (or slightly less, seems that Antarctica and perhaps some others have no flag currently, even though I didn’t check this thoroughly.) Is there any chance you would feel like completing the collection? 8-)
I understand if this is not currently an option for you and thanks anyway for this set.
